WATCHMAKER | Jacob & Co. Oil Pump: A Dual-Axis Tourbillon Enacting an Oil Well Theater

The Jacob & Co. Oil Pump watch, housed in a 49.5mm black DLC titanium case, recreates a miniature mechanical scene of an oil rig. The central 3D automaton mechanism, activated by pressing the button at the 2 o'clock position, performs a 35-second pumping sequence, mimicking the real-life process of oil extraction. Powered by the JCAM33 movement composed of 510 components, it features a dual-axis tourbillon that rotates along two axes, simulating the drilling path of a drill bit. The pressure gauge above the oil barrel functions as a power reserve indicator. This timepiece masterfully blends haute horlogerie with dramatic mechanical artistry.
